What Happens in a Consultation

Everyone's babywearing needs are different, so everyone's consultation is a bit different.

However, there are a few things that are constant during all of our consultations.

👉 Baby's needs come first. If your child needs a cuddle, a nappy change or a feed during a consultation, we absolutely can pause for a moment so you can see to baby's needs.

👉 Every consult is unique.  As everyone's babywearing journey is a bit different, one of the first things we do during a consultation is talk. What you are looking for in a carrier, any carrying experiences you have had, your child's likes and dislikes. All of these things are taken into consideration to tailor a consultation and carriers we trial to your family needs.

👉 Safety is key! Every step of the way we are talking about key points to be aware of, so you can be sure your child is safe in the carrier. From the steps to take to ensure baby is not at risk of falling while they are being placed in your carrier, to the things to check once they are secure, and how to tweak your fit if things aren't quite right.

👉 Confidence boosting. The first couple of attempts with a new carrier can be pretty complicated. So to take one of the difficulties out of the equation we start off babywearing a demonstration doll. They complain a lot less than a real child and you don't have to worry if you accidentally jostle them when you are reaching for a strap.
